WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A verbal disagreement led to a home being set on fire on North Lane Road, the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office said Monday. Jaquan Tyriq Simmons, 28, from Manning, was arrested and charged with domestic violence high and aggravated and arson in the second degree for his role in a Saturday fire at a residence on North Lane Road in Williamsburg County.
Hemingway man charged with murder following autopsy of July 2023 gunshot victim
WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A 32-year-old man from Hemingway, South Carolina, was charged with murder by the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office. The charges brought against Craig Dwayne Tucker come after a victim, who was shot in July 2023, died as a result of gunshot wounds on Dec. 2, 2023. Law enforcement upgraded the charges from attempted murder after receiving the final autopsy report for the deceased victim on Wednesday, April 17.

A couple in South Carolina have been arrested after police say they burned an infant with scalding hot toilet water that reached 129 degrees Fahrenheit. Nijel David Flowers, 25, and Mahogany Na’Jae Hemingway, 21, of Kingtree, South Carolina surrendered themselves to police at the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office on April 11, though the burning of the child occurred on March 18, according to a statement from police posted on Facebook Thursday.
