WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Dozens were out in Luzerne County to raise money and awareness for autism.

Graham Academy hosted “Light it Up Blue”, a community celebration on the square in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

A 5k in the morning kicked off the event with entertainment filling Public Square afterwards.

There were dozens of food and retail vendors, crafts, and live music. Touch and sensory tables were set up for those who like to play and interact with sensory toys.

“It brings families together, gets them out together and people meet new people out here and find new resources,” said Brynn Kolbalick from Dallas.

Proceeds from the 5k walk will go to the Moment of Magic Foundation chapter of Misericordia University, while candle sales go to Safe supporting autistic families everywhere, and t-shirt sales will go to support Challenger Baseball.
