Drowning reported at Illinois River
CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. -- The Josephine County Sheriff's Office is reporting that one man is dead after drowning in the Illinois River at Forks State Park. On Saturday, June 1 at 11:53 a.m., a report was made to 911 of a drowning in the river. The Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police, Illinois Valley Fire and American Medical Response came onto the scene to find 39-year-old Zeke Grant of Cave Junction had drowned while swimming in a swimming hole at the park.
OSP searching for person responsible for hitting trooper car with rock
GRANTS PASS, Ore. – Oregon State Police is asking for the public’s help after a rock appears to have been thrown at a trooper’s vehicle. OSP says at around 9 p.m. Thursday night, a trooper’s vehicle was hit by a rock while driving under the Beacon Street overpass in Grants Pass.
