WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Members of the World Mission Society Church of God volunteered to clean up L.W. Clapp Park on Sunday.

“So today we’re gonna be walking up and down the stream, we kind of scouted the area prior to us coming, we saw that there was a lot of trash, a lot of debris like all around the river bank or the creek bed,” said Hunter Mcevoy, a member of the World Mission Society Church of God.

The volunteers used pickers to pick up different kinds of trash safely.

The church chose L.W. Clapp Park as it is a big area that their volunteers could cover.

“You know, we have a lot of man power so we want to be able to kind of make the most impact wihtin our community starting with like the bigger projects first and working down to the smaller ones,” said Mcevoy.

This is the second time members of the church volunteered to clean a park. They hope to clean more.
