    UPDATE: May 24, 2024, 10:10 p.m.:

This year’s first-place winner was the “State Farm Insurance” team, which consisted of Kevin Kulle, Robert Buckingham, Blaine Willett and John Ferguson.

The group won $500 dollars, and in a gesture of kindness, they gave it all back to Crime Stoppers.

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Amateur and pro golfers teed up for a good cause Friday, May 24, 2024, during the Wichita Falls Crime Stoppers benefit golf tournament at The Champions Course at Weeks Park.

The annual tournament is the largest fundraiser each year, with the funds raised from sponsors and entries going towards Crime Stoppers. Even members of our KFDX team took part.

Crime Stoppers coordinator Steve Ginger said they had a good turnout for the tournament this year.

“We had about 26 teams today. Over 100 players show up to play,” Ginger said. “And all of that money goes back into the fund for Crime Stoppers. And they use that money to pay out tips and, you know, give generously back to the community.”

This is the 28th year for the golf tournament fundraiser.
