WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The final class of seniors at Wichita Falls High School are now graduates as the group walked the stage at the Kay Yeager Coliseum Thursday evening.

Jason Starks, with a 5.0 grade point average, was named valedictorian. And with a 4.94 GPA, Aidan Herrera was the salutatorian.

After the district passed a bond to build two new high schools in 2020, the decision was made to close the “old high,” the first high school in the city.

The school was founded in 1891 before moving to Broad Street and eventually Avenue H in 1909.

From all of us here at KFDX, we want to say congratulations to this group of seniors. It is a bittersweet day for Coyote students, staff, and alumni.
