WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Strong southerly winds continue to blow across Texoma, bringing with them low-level moisture. A dryline just to our west will be the trigger point for some thunderstorms, though they should barely touch our northern counties in Texoma Sunday night.

Sunday night’s lows will drop to the upper 60s and low 70s, with 72 degrees for Wichita Falls and a high tomorrow of 94.

The rest of the area will see a range from the upper 80s to the east, with more than one triple-digit temperature being reached in western counties.

The heat index value in Wichita Falls for Monday will be near 97 degrees.

Progressing throughout the week, a weak ridge of high pressure begins to build until a cold front pushes across the area bringing with it chances of showers and thunderstorms for Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures will be a little cooler compared to the early part of the week, with mid-80s expected for both days.

Following the cold front headed into next weekend, temperatures will rebound back to the 90s.
