WFPD Special Operations serves search warrant at motel

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — One arrest is confirmed from a WFPD Special Operations narcotics investigation at the Catalina Motel on East Scott yesterday, but officials say that arrest was not connected directly to the search warrant.

Around 4:30 pm Wednesday numerous Special Operations narcotics and SWAT team officers arrived at the motel at 1108 E. Scott to serve a narcotics search warrant.

A fire department first response unit and an AMR ambulance were also on scene, but no injuries were reported.

Daleon Jones, 32, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance in September, 2022.

A police spokesperson said he was in the room when they entered, but his arrest was not related to the search warrant they were serving.

Jones has previous arrests for forgery and and possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
