Hawaiian Bros Island Grill draws large crowd for free samples offered during soft open

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Wichita Falls’ newest chain restaurant had people sitting in traffic and standing in line waiting their turn for a free sample Friday.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill had a soft open Friday, May 3, 2024 , with folks waiting to sample free food. The new restaurant is on Kemp Blvd. where the Denny’s used to be.

On Hawaiian Bros Facebook, they said that first responders, medical personnel, academic staff, student or local business employees are all welcome to enjoy a free plate lunch on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m.

Their menu features plate lunches with a choice of chicken and pork. The chain has about 50 locations, mostly in the Midwest and Southwest, with about 20 locations in Texas.

The grand opening will be Monday, May 6, with the first 100 people in line receiving free t-shirts and gift certificates. One lucky person will receive free Hawaiian Bros for a year.
