The Storm Prediction Center warns of a potential outbreak of severe weather in Wichita Falls and across North Texas on Saturday.

SPC had placed the area in a region of Enhanced Risk that stretches from near Abilene to southern Iowa.

“All severe hazards will be possible, including the threat for strong tornadoes and very large hail,” the center said in a forecast issued early Friday.

The National Weather Service said the primary time of severe weather potential would be from noon through the overnight hours Saturday and until sunrise Sunday.

Thunderstorms early Friday produced 0.68 of an inch of rain officially in Wichita Falls.
