Chattanooga Softball Sweeps Furman; Takes Top Spot In SoCon Standings
Chattanooga softball took both games Saturday over Furman to move into sole possession of first place. The Mocs beat Furman 6-1 in the opener and 3-0 in the second game. Camryn Cernuto went 5-for-7 with two RBI and two runs scored. Kaili Phillips went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs in the second game and a sac bunt. Kendall Forsythe drove in a pair of runs on two hits and Baileigh Pitts had two RBI with a walk and sac fly.

Lookouts Offense Falters In 5-1 Loss
The Birmingham Barons took the final game of the series as the Lookouts' offense only had one run on four hits. The game started with two straight scoreless innings before Birmingham got on the board in the third on a Bryan Ramos RBI double. They added to their lead in the fourth on an error and a Duke Ellis two-run homer.

Red Wolves fall to in state rival 1-0
RED WOLVES- The Chattanooga Red Wolves hosted One Knoxville SC in the first round of the new USL Jägermeister Cup. After a scoreless first half, a 48th minute header from One Knox led to a 1-0 win for the visiting side. The intrastate rivals will meet again in cup competition on Saturday, July 20th and in regular season action on Friday, August 16th, both in Knoxville, before finishing the regular season matchup at CHI Memorial Stadium on October 5th.
