No injuries reported in storms
Sequatchie County Emergency Management Director Brian Ruehling said on Thursday, May 9, that there were no known local injuries from the storm that roared through several states the previous night and early morning. Tornado, severe thunderstorm, and flood warnings were all issued. Director Ruehling said flooding took place inside the Sequatchie County Fair building off Heard Street. He added, emergency personnel continue to monitor the water level at Brush Creek. Another rising creek, Coops (above) in Dunlap rose nearly to the level of the new walking bridge. Law enforcement remind drivers to be aware of water over roads and possible debris, and slow down. For more on the storm, see the May 16 issue of The Dunlap Tribune.
