Bethlehem City Council to vote on appointment of new fire chief
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Bethlehem City Council will vote Tuesday on promoting Captain Michael Reich as fire chief. The city's website lists Warren Achey as the current chief. Achey joined the city Fire Department in 1992 and was appointed chief in 2016 by then-Mayor Robert Donchez. In 2023, the firefighters' union raised concerns about the department's leadership.

Lane closing this week on I-78 West at Phillipsburg toll bridge
