    UPDATE: Suspect named in Monday shots fired incident in East Wheeling

    Wheeling, W.Va. (WTRF) – UPDATE: Police have arrested 52 year old Benjamin Edwards of Wheeling in relation to a shots fired incident in East Wheeling on Monday afternoon.

    Edwards has been charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm, reckless fleeing and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

    He was taken to the Northern Regional Jail.

    Wheeling Police arrested a man after a short pursuit following a shots fired incident on Monday afternoon.

    Wheeling Police Public Information Officer Philip Stahl tells 7NEWS that a call came in at 3:45 p.m about a shots fired incident on 15th Street.

    When the responding officer arrived he saw a vehicle quickly leaving the scene.

    There was a short pursuit, during which the suspect allegedly fired a gun out of the vehicle window, before crashing at 14th and Wood Streets.

    There was a short pursuit on foot, and then officers arrested the suspect at 15th and Jacob streets.

    Police tell us there were no injuries. The suspect has not been named at this time.
