Police, School Officials on high alert after schools in Autauga and Elmore receive Phone Threats
Autauga and Elmore County law enforcement officers and school staff were on alert today, after threatening telephone calls were made to area schools. Edgewood Academy in Elmore, and Autaugaville School in Autauga, were both impacted by threats made to the schools via phone calls. Law enforcement was notified in both local cases, and all students are safe.

Alabama Correctional Workers Arrested in Separate Contraband Incidents
The Alabama Department of Corrections is grappling with integrity issues following the arrests of two staff members at different facilities on contraband-related charges. Sarah Woodward, a former administrative support assistant at Elmore Correctional Facility, was apprehended on November 22nd after a K-9 unit detected a suspicious package in her car. Found within were illegal items, earning Woodward charges including Promoting Prison Contrand, Possession of Marijuana, and Trafficking Methamphetamine.
Prattville PD seeks help in solving teen's death
PRATTVILLE ‒ District Attorney CJ Robinson ended a Tuesday morning news conference with a direct plea to the public: “Help us take a killer off the street." Kylen Smith, 16, of Prattville was shot about noon on Aug. 6 in the 600 block of Covered Bridge Parkway, said Sgt. Ariel Davis, of the Prattville Police Department’s investigations division. No arrest has been made. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers announced that it is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible for Kylen’s death.
