A GoFundMe has been launched to save the restaurant that has been a part of Denton for more than 30 years. As of Monday evening, the GoFundMe had raised more than $1,000, a testament to the community’s love for this legacy restaurant.

Flower Mound park reopens with upgraded playground
Cortadera Park has reopened with a fresh look, the town of Flower Mound announced over the weekend. The playground at Cortadera Park, 2000 Cortadera St., was closed down in February so crews could install upgrades. The new playground equipment features a structure for kids aged 2-5 and kids aged 5-12. There is a new swing set with shade, a merry-go-round, a stand-alone climbing structure and new artificial turf. The playground theme is “In the Clouds,” according to a town news release.
Twin Coves Park reopens; some amenities remain closed
The town of Flower Mound announced Monday that it has reopened Twin Coves Park, though some park amenities will remain closed. The town had partially closed the park, 5001 Wichita Trail, on May 6 due to rising water levels in Grapevine Lake. Then, on Wednesday last week, the town completely closed the park because of flooding.

Bubble tea shop coming to Flower Mound
Gong cha, a chain of bubble tea shops, is planning to open a new location in Flower Mound, the town announced over the weekend. The international beverage franchise is known for its signature milk foam with its freshly brewed premium teas. Gong cha — which translates to “tribute tea for the emperor” — was founded in 2006 in Taiwan, and now has more than 2,000 locations in 23 countries, according to the company’s website. Currently, the closest location to Flower Mound is located at The Vista Mall, 2405 South Stemmons Freeway in Lewisville.
