The Blue Devils, seeking their first county title since 2017, are 12-1 on the season. Gov. Livingston is the second seed followed by third-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood and fourth-seeded Summit.
“We are very fortunate to have the top seed in the tournament and the opportunity to play at our home field for the first game,” said Westfield head coach Jay Cook. “There are very talented teams in the tournament and we are looking to play our best baseball.”
The tournament gets underway on Wednesday with the preliminary games. The higher seeds host until the semifinals at Johnson followed by the championship game at Kean University.
Defending champion Cranford is the fifth seed.
Westfield will play the winner of 16th-seeded Roselle Catholic and 17-seed Rahway in the first round.
