WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A beloved Coventry restaurant is branching out — quite literally.

Sherri’s Come Along Inn is preparing to open a “second branch” less than a mile away in West Warwick, according to owner and namesake Sherri DelFino.

The new restaurant, which will be called Sherri’s , will have a much different atmosphere than the original, which DelFino and her husband first opened in 2017.

DelFino told 12 News Sherri’s Come Along Inn is a full-service restaurant with a dining room and bar. Sherri’s, on the other hand, will focus primarily on takeout and delivery orders.

The menus will also be drastically different, according to DelFino. Instead of the hearty meals DelFino’s regulars have come to know and love, the new Sherri’s will specialize in quick bites for those who are on the go.

Specifically, DelFino said Sherri’s will offer hot and cold deli sandwiches, calzones, wings, fish and chips and other prepared foods.

Though Sherri’s will have a couple of tables where guests can sit and eat, DelFino said there will be no servers. The new restaurant also won’t serve alcohol, she added.

“We anticipate much of the business will be takeout and delivery,” she said.

What the restaurants will have in common, according to DelFino, is the “same laser focus on guest service and fresh food made from scratch.”

“We strive for every guest to be thrilled and say, ‘that’s the best (whatever) we’ve ever had,'” DelFino said. “That’s when we know we’re doing it right.”

DelFino said her recipes have been “handed down from generations” and span several cultures, including American, Italian and Portuguese. She plans to leverage those recipes in her new restaurant to create dishes that are quick and convenient.

Sherri’s is slated to open sometime in June, however, DelFino said the menu will be limited at first.

“We want to get it right,” DelFino said, adding that Sherri’s will ramp up its offerings over time.

Sherri’s Come Along Inn is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 4-9 p.m. and Sundays from 3-7 p.m. Sherri’s, according to DelFino, will eventually be open six to seven days a week and its hours will centered around the lunch and dinner rushes, though the exact days and times have not yet been established.
