Six people plead guilty for involvement in Lake View homicide
HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced Friday that six people pleaded guilty to their involvement in a stabbing that took place July 10, 2022, in a wooded area near Heltz Road in Lake View. According to the district attorney's office, 25-year-old Brendan Benoit of Boston was stabbed multiple times and found dead at the scene.

NY weather: Be prepared for thunderstorms in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties Wednesday evening
The National Weather Service issued a report at 4:26 p.m. on Wednesday for thunderstorms until 7 p.m. for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. "Slow moving thunderstorms this late afternoon are producing localized heavy rainfall across the western Southern Tier. These storms, moving northeast to southwest, can produce an inch to inch and a half of rainfall in an hour timeframe. Poor drainage flooding and ponding of water in low-lying areas are likely from these storms. These storms will continue into the early evening, with just an isolated shower remaining through the mid and late evening hours," according to the weather service.

OLEAN, NY — The Veggie Wheels® program will host its fifth annual Slow Ride bicycling fundraiser on June 1 from 10 a.m. to noon. Veggie Wheels® provides fresh, naturally grown fruits and vegetables, free of charge, to low-income, disabled, and elderly residents living in Cattaraugus County. After the ride, participants are invited to stay on campus for the chance to win prizes, have snacks and connect with other riders. Donations of $15 are encouraged and can be made by cash or by check at registration or online. All are welcome to participate.
