West Valley, N.Y. – Christina Gast, a West Valley resident has been sentenced to two years of probation following her conviction for Driving While Intoxicated. The incident took place around February 2, 2021, in the Town of Ashford. Gast operated a vehicle on a public highway while intoxicated, with a child present in the car.

(WNY News Now) – Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office apprehends a 37-year-old man for alleged criminal mischief at the County Jail. Cattaraugus County, N.Y. – Following an investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau, Brian M. Johnson was arrested on December 4, 2023, at 1:15 pm. The charges include one count of Criminal Mischief in the third degree. Johnson is accused of forcefully removing a phone from the wall of the Cattaraugus County Jail’s recreation room, subsequently hurling it across the space.

A recent merger has been made between a local Ellicottville law firm, Peters & Moriarty P.C., with the long-standing Hamburg-based firm, Attea & Attea P.C. The joining of these practices brings on an array of legal services to be offered, along with the additional resources needed, to help each and every client in the area. WASHINGTON — Southern Tier Health Care System Inc. has received $120,348 in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program. “This grant underscores a shared commitment to ensure that residents in Southwestern New York have access to the highest standard of holistic healthcare services,” Donna L. Kahm, the organization’s president and CEO, said. “The Southern Tier Health Care System is dedicated to working with our federal partners to offer a wide range of tangible assistance to our underserved communities.” According to the USDA, the funds will be used to provide training opportunities for health care professionals to better address opioid and substance-use disorders and mental health care. “This significant federal investment in Southern Tier Health Care Systems will allow them to bolster their staff training and services in Cattaraugus County,” Rep. Nick Langworthy, who announced the grant Tuesday, said. Langworthy’s district includes the Greater Olean area. Southern Tier Health Care System is headquartered in Olean.
