    Ware man faces gun and drug charges after reports of a crash in West Springfield

    WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Ware man was arrested in West Springfield after multiple reports of a vehicle involved in a crash on Thursday.

    Convicted felon arrested after report of a man with a gun in Springfield

    According to the West Springfield Police Department, officers located the vehicle, allegedly involved in a crash, in the parking lot of a business on Park Street near the North End Bridge. When officers approached the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jaivon Amir Clark , he was acting erratically while moving items around inside the vehicle.

    Officers noticed the car had significant front-end damage however, when questioning Clark, he continued to act erratically and was attempting to reach for a backpack in the backseat. He was arrested after officers removed him from the car and a live 9mm round was located in his front pants pocket.

    Inside the backpack, police seized a “Polymer 80 Inc.” 9mm handgun, with a 9mm round chambered and a fully loaded 17-round magazine in the firearm, a box of 9mm ammunition with 34 rounds remaining in the box, an unlabeled prescription bottle containing 17 Oxycodone Pills, and 7-sealed packages of marijuana.

    Jaivon Amir Clark was charged with the following:

    • Carrying a Firearm w/o a License
    • Improper Storage of a Firearm
    • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
    • Possession Large Capacity Feeding Device
    • Possession of Ammunition w/o a FID Card
    • Possession of a Firearm w/ Defaced Ser. Number while in Commission of a Felony
    • Large Capacity Firearm in a Vehicle
    • Possession of a Class B Drug (Oxycodone)
    • Possession of a Class D Drug (marijuana)
