Sills Cummis & Gross , one of New Jersey’s top corporate law firms, is expanding its practice to Florida.

In a May 1 press release announcing the firm’s new office in West Palm Beach, managing partner Max
    Crane
said the decision to establish a presence in the Sunshine State stemmed from their clients spending more time in the region whether it be for weeks, months, seasons or permanently.

“We closely follow our clients, recognizing the potential to assist them with new business opportunities,”
    Crane
said. “Additionally, several members of our firm are admitted to practice in the State of Florida and some have recently taken the Florida Bar.”

Sills Cummis also announced the addition of Robert Selig as a member of the firm and co-managing partner of the West Palm Beach office.

After earning a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and a law degree from Widener University of Law, Selig began his career in Montgomery County, Pa., in the district attorney’s office, where he rose to the position of chief of trials.

From there, he went on to develop a diverse litigation practice involving trusts and estates, commercial, construction, product liability and insurance matters, as well as transactional matters for select clients. Selig’s clients came from a range of industries, including food, beverage, hospitality, insurance and transportation.

Selig has appeared in state and federal courts throughout Florida, representing both plaintiffs and defendants for over 30 years, and has experience serving on the board and as counsel to multiple charitable organizations. He is admitted to practice in Florida as well as Pennsylvania.

Crane said, “When we met Bob Selig, the choice was clear: we sought a seasoned 30+ year veteran of the Florida Bar to help us launch and anchor our Florida office.”

Selig said he is thrilled to join Sills Cummis and co-manage the Florida office.

“After careful consideration and learning more about Sills Cummis, its exceptional team of attorneys, and its commitment to client service, I am confident that this move will allow me to better serve my clients with a broader range of legal services and assist Sills Cummis’ clients in their many South Florida endeavors,” he said.

Headquartered in Newark, Sills Cummis & Gross is a full-service firm that serves clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to emerging growth and foreign corporations doing business in the U.S.

The new Sills Cummis & Gross office is located at 222 Lakeview Ave., Suite 80, in West Palm Beach:
