A lawsuit is claiming Kennywood kept the closure of the Steel Curtain a secret because the park wanted to increase it’s ticket sales.

TribLive said Joshua Miller filled a class action lawsuit against Kennywood after he allegedly bought season passes to the park.

Miller said in the lawsuit that on Kennywood’s website it says that the Steel Curtain promised to “make a last impression” and would be running during the 2024 season when he purchased his season pass. Miller believes that Kennywood knew that the Steel Curtain would not be operating in 2024 and withheld that information to avoid losing ticket sales.

The lawsuit also says that Kennywood violated the state’s unfair trade practices and consumer protection law by failing to let the public know that Steel Curtain would be closed.

Miller is asking for $100 for himself and anyone who purchases season passes before the announcement that the Steel Curtain would be closed for the 2024 year.

Kennywood opened their park for the 2024 season on April 20.
