LAKE COMO, NJ – A series of arrests took place over Memorial Day weekend. Victor Bryant, 37, was arrested for burglary and possession of burglary tools on Saturday. Marcos Ernst, 57, Rodrigo Martinez, 22, and Michael McBride, 29, were each arrested for driving while intoxicated on different occasions. ‘Large amount’ of weed, cash taken in N.J. cannabis dispensary robbery, cops say
Police are investigating the theft of a large amount of cash and cannabis products from a New Jersey dispensary on Memorial Day. The robbery occurred early Monday at the Ayr Dispensary in Eatontown, authorities said. An employee arriving for a shift at the Monmouth County dispensary alerted police to the theft, but officers said the robber or robbers had already fled.

An Asbury Park man was arrested last week and charged with burglary at a tent in the area of Bethany Block in Ocean Grove May 21, police said. Police responded to the tent area after officials from the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association discovered a tent had been burglarized At the scene forced entry into the structure was observed. Volunteers needed for invasive plant removal in Avon
AVON-BY-THE-SEA — The Avon-By-The-Sea Environmental Commission is seeking volunteers to help remove invasive plant species from the beach on Saturday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to noon starting at Garfield Avenue pavilion. “Invasive plants are not native to our coastline, and they spread rapidly and crowd out the native species which are so important for protecting our beaches, our wildlife and our ocean,” explained Sandra McLaughlin, co-chair of the Environmental Commission.

Freehold Township, N.J.-based Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute is adding orthopedic care to its new Belmar, N.J., location. Starting in June, orthopedic surgeon Stacey Gallacher, MD, will offer care for orthopedic conditions including injuries that affect the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. Township committee solidifies affordable housing plan
WALL TOWNSHIP — The Wall Township Committee introduced several affordable housing ordinances last Wednesday that would solidify the town’s plans to fulfill its court-mandated 1,250 affordable housing unit quota by 2025, in order to remain in compliance with New Jersey’s Mount Laurel housing law. Out of the 1,250-unit requirement for the third round of affordable housing, the township has already completed the construction of 158 units and approved the construction of 392 units, receiving an additional 24 “bonus credits” from their surplus during the previous round.
