Iowa City increases parking rates and violation fines
The Iowa City City Council has voted to increase parking rates and parking violation fines for the first time since 2013 during a meeting on Tuesday, May 21. According to Iowa City Parking FAQs, ramp parking will be up from $1 to $2 per hour. Metered street parking in the Central Business District will be up from $1.50 to $3 per hour, and metered street parking in outlying areas will be up from $.75 or $1 to $1.50 per hour.
