NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A West Haven man was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday for the alleged possession of hundreds of grams of narcotics, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Levern Marion, 35, was charged with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and a quantity of fentanyl.

The indictment was returned May 1 and Marion pleaded not guilty to the charge in New Haven federal court Tuesday.

Investigations allege surveillance, trash pulls, and traffic stops showed Marion was distributing the narcotics in and around New Haven.

When he was arrested on March 27, a court authorized search of a New Haven residence connected to him found roughly 800 grams of cocaine, about 260 grams of crack cocaine, and “numerous” wax folds, according to authorities.

Marion faces between five and 40 years in prison, according to Avery’s office.
