Seymour sweeps past short-handed Stars
SEYMOUR – Seymour swept past short-handed Bedford North Lawrence 5-0 during girls high school tennis action on Tuesday. With top singles player Becca Epping out for the season with a broken foot, the Stars had to shift lineup positions. The Owls didn’t drop a set against their Hoosier Hills Conference rival.
IHSAA announces sectional assignments for six sports
BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence will compete in a new Class 4A football sectional after the IHSAA announced the assignments for six sports on Tuesday. The Stars will now face Charlestown, Connersville, Greenwood, Jennings County, Martinsville, Shelbyville and Silver Creek in 4A Sectional 23 for the next two years. BNL was shifted to face teams from the Evansville area during the regular season last year, but it is now back in a similar grouping to 2022.
Softball Recap: Scottsburg has no trouble against Paoli
Scottsburg came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 runs) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Paoli Rams as they made off with an 18-6 victory. Considering Scottsburg has won four games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
BNL wins Unified HHC meet
SEYMOUR – Bedford North Lawrence won the Hoosier Hills Conference title during Unified track action on Saturday.
