Double B’s BBQ in West Allis makes Yelp's Top 100 Barbecue Spots list

A West Allis barbecue joint is among Yelp's Top 100 Barbecue Spots for 2024.

Double B's BBQ , 7412 W. Greenfield Ave., ranks 47th on the list. It's the only Wisconsin restaurant that made the rankings.

Yelp identified businesses in the barbecue category with a "large concentration of reviews." It then ranked those spots using variables like total volume or ratings with the keyword "barbecue."

The family-operated Double B's BBQ opened in 2012. Mark Timber and his wife, Judy, took over the restaurant in 2015.

"I’ve tried to nail a real good acceptable barbecue, not too hot, smoky — and consistency is the biggest point," Mark Timber said in a 2019 Journal Sentinel profile. "We try to keep the restaurant as consistent as possible. We serve the same ribs, soups and sides the same way, so it is the way you remember it from last time."

Barbecue platters at Double B's range between $16 to $30. Starters are around $5 to $9.

The restaurant is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
