Wellsboro, Pa. — The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is extending the current Atrium Gallery exhibit "The PA Wilds by Day and Night" by photographer Curt Weinhold.

The exhibit, featuring Weinhold's photographs of the region's natural landscapes and dark skies, is open through Sunday, June 2.

Weinhold, a well-known photographer from Coudersport, shared his motivation for the exhibit, stating, “I see my photos as a way to show a piece of the natural world, encouraging others to appreciate and preserve these resources.”

Originally from Lancaster County, Weinhold fell in love with the beauty of Potter and Tioga counties as a teenager and has called Coudersport home for over half his life.

In addition to his full-time job, Weinhold has dedicated much of his free time to photographing the great outdoors, particularly the Pennsylvania Wilds region. Though he has traveled to many National Parks, Weinhold's true passion lies in capturing the stunning landscapes, wildlife, and night skies of northcentral Pennsylvania. He frequently teaches nightscape photography classes at the nearby Cherry Springs State Park, which is renowned for its dark skies.

All of Weinhold's photographs featured in the Gmeiner exhibit are available for purchase, with a variety of framed, under-glass, and canvas-printed options to suit different budgets. Visitors can also find his work for sale at the Potter County Artisan Center in Coudersport, where he also teaches classes.

The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is open from 12 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and is located at 134 Main St. in Wellsboro, behind the Green Free Library. Admission to the gallery is free, allowing the public to immerse themselves in Weinhold's stunning depictions of the PA Wilds.
