ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The groundbreaking of Fairlife’s new facility in Webster took place Thursday morning.

The project was announced back in May, with the projected completion date for the 745,000-square-foot milk processing and distribution facility being in 2025. The facility will be located on Tebor Road.

The project represents a $650 million investment and is slated to bring 250 new jobs to the Monroe County area. This is said to be the largest industrial development business project in the county’s history.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello estimated this facility will create over 500 construction jobs to complete it, 250 jobs, and what he hopes is more beyond that.

The Coca-Cola North America President Jennifer Mann spoke about fairlife’s history with Coca-Cola and what it means to bring this expansion to New York. Mann stated that the Coca-Cola company and fairlife contributed 2.6 billion to the state’s economy in 2022.

Governor Kathy Hochul praised New York dairy farmers in her speech and spoke about her budget. Hochul said she planned her budget to help with investment tax credits for farmers and she hopes to help with economic development.
