(Fort Dodge) An 18-year-old from Fort Dodge has pleaded guilty to reduced charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in downtown Fort Dodge last May. Webster City Parks & Rec Commission meets Thursday

Hawks eager to turn a corner
With six returning starters and two more letterwinners back in the fold, South Hamilton head baseball coach Cole Swenson is hoping to take that next step this summer. The Hawks went 10-13 last year, placing fifth in the Heart of Iowa Conference. They earned a postseason win before being ousted by Mason City Newman.

Lynx eager to get started
Records can sometimes be deceiving. The Webster City baseball team knows first hand what that’s like. The Lynx finished at the .500 mark a year ago at 16-16. When you dig deeper into the story, though, Webster City had nine losses by a single run. Head coach Addison Kehoe’s squad faced eight state qualifiers, and competed against four that reached the championship round in their respective classes.
