Wood county man killed in motorcycle crash
A Wood County man was killed Thursday night when the motorcycle he was operating slammed into the rear of a semi-tractor trailer on I-75 in Perrysburg Township. Aaron D. Gardner, 21, of West Millgrove, Ohio, was southbound on I-75 near Reitz Road at 11:38 p.m. when he accelerated at a high rate of speed and lost control, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle Mr. Gardner was operating veered from the left lane into the right lane where it struck the rear of a semi being driven by Albert G. Woodley, 64, of Farmington Hills, Mich. Mr. Gardner was thrown from the motorcycle and was struck by another vehicle. Mr. Gardner was wearing a helmet and protective gear at the time of the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OSHP: Toledo man arrested after Ohio Turnpike pursuit
ELMORE, Ohio — Authorities arrested a Toledo man on the Ohio Turnpike just south of Elmore Thursday night after a pursuit, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Sgt. Ryan Purpura, OSHP spokesperson, told WTOL 11 that 23-year-old Nathaniel Woodby was charged with receiving stolen property and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
