Having a three-game winning streak snapped was disappointing. And now, the Waunakee softball team has lost three of its last four games.

The bright spot was a 5-1 non-conference win over Juda/Albany on Saturday at the Evansville Triangular, where the Warriors also fell 6-2 to the home team.

Avery Schwab had a big game against Evansville in a losing effort, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. Avary Abercrombie went the distance in the pitcher’s circle, allowing four earned and two unearned runs on seven hits, while striking out two and walking one. Jade Keene, Isabella Lobraco, Amanda Comins and Abercrombie all had hits for Waunakee.

No statistics were available from the Juda/Albany win.

In an 11-1 loss to Milton on Friday, Zaria Hyman went 1-for-2 and scored a run, as she tripled. Three different Warriors had at least one hit.

Watertown’s pitching was dominant in a 7-0 win over Waunakee on Tuesday, May 7, which snapped the Warriors’ stretch of three wins in a row.

For the season, Waunakee is 6-13 overall, along with a 3-10 mark in Badger Large Conference play.
