WATERTOWN — Senior Ella Ristow scored the game’s lone goal in the 61st minute for Lakeside’s girls soccer team in a 1-0 road victory over Luther Prep in nonconference action on Tuesday, April 16.

Sophomore Kylie Lundgren was credited with the assist on Ristow’s score.

“Lakeside and Luther Prep always make for a good matchup, and today was no exception,” Lakeside girls soccer coach Hannah Uher said. “We battled through the wind and the rain to come out on top, thanks to stellar defending and a flick-on goal by senior captain Ella Ristow.”

Senior Maria Vik stopped nine shots for the Warriors (2-3) and junior Sinai Palacios made 14 saves for the Phoenix (2-1).

“Of course the game came down to corner kicks, because Lakeside converted an odd touch off the back of Ella to slide one into the far side of the goal,” Luther Prep girls soccer coach Brent Archer said.

“After the goal, we had another great chance with a through ball to Viviana Mata, but Lakeside’s keeper Maria Vik made a nice play coming out of the box, forcing the shot wide.”
