JACK OF ALL TRADES: Chase Husted Talks Hoops, Future in Medicine, Passion for Music
HUNTINGDON, PA (EYT) — Over the last few seasons, there have been few post players at the NCAA Division III level like former DuBois Beaver standout Chase Husted. Husted, a former three-sport standout in high school and a 2020 graduate of DuBois Area High School, has cemented a legacy as one of the top players in the history of Juniata College men’s basketball. The interesting part is he never pictured himself playing college basketball. He believed he would be on the gridiron on Saturday afternoons. Husted was an all-state tight end for the DuBois football program and even attracted the attention of programs at all three levels of the NCAA. In the end, Husted’s senior year of basketball was enough to sway his decision to play college basketball. When going through the recruiting process, there was one school that stood out above the rest. Juniata was that school because of their strong pre-medicine track and the family times to the institution for Husted.
