WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened two more disaster recovery centers for those who were affected by the storms and flooding in December and January.

The staff at the new centers in Warwick and Cranston can help residents apply for assistance, upload documents, and get answers to any questions they may have.

Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration will also be on hand to help homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofits request SBA disaster loans.

The facilities are accessible to people with disabilities and access and functional needs. Reasonable accommodations or sign language interpreters are available at request.

FEMA has similar facilities in Coventry and Cumberland, but recently closed the centers in Wakefield and Smithfield.

The agency noted that people don’t have to visit the centers to seek assistance. It can be done by calling 1-800-621-3362, visiting disasterassistance.gov or downloading the FEMA Mobile App .
