Salina Fire Station Art Integration Complete as Mosaic Tile Project Continues
Salina's Community Art and Design Committee provided updates on two public art projects during its October 20 meeting. Crystal Hammerschmidt, Art Services Coordinator, reported that the artwork and sign for a city fire station has been installed and is complete. The piece includes back lighting that runs behind a central number four, with three set lights above it. The center light had reportedly been turned off because it was drowning out the back lighting. Hammerschmidt encouraged the public to view the piece after dark and sought volunteers with night photography experience to document it for the public art archive.
