Walla Walla Bread Co. announced its closure as costs continue to rise

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The Walla Walla Bread Co. said it will be closing its doors permanently after fighting to stay open for 5 years.

In a Facebook post Monday night, the company said it turned the business around for the last 5 years but the numbers are not in their favor.

With spiraling costs and the increased cost for quality ingredients for breads and pastries; the company said it was necessary to close as they cannot raise prices to be where it needs to be to cover the costs.

The company said it has tried everything to stay open and the support from the community has been overwhelming and humbling.

The Walla Walla Bread Co. said its last day open will be Friday, May 31.
