As the Chamber staff members are busy finalizing event planning and promotions for the season, and businesses are busy getting ready for the summer residents and visitors, the Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has news to share.

We are looking ahead to a summer of many changes. Our longtime summer staff member — Rhonda Greenlun — will not be returning to work this summer. After 17 years she has decided that she wants to have more free time during her summers in Minnesota. She spends her winters in sunny Arizona but always returns to Walker each May.

Rhonda first joined the Chamber in 2007 and has been involved with every summer and fall event that the Chamber has done. Through the years she has perfected the logistics of each of the events whether it was large or small.

Every day Rhonda would arrive at work with a smile and a dedicated work ethic. She not only kept our front office organized but every storage area would get a thorough cleaning upon her return to work. Her knowledge of the area was appreciated by many Chamber visitors and tourists, and her sincere assistance on thousands of phone calls answered more questions than we could ever add up.

We thank her for her many years of service to LLACC; we will miss her for so many reasons. If you see her around town this summer, be sure to wish her well and say thanks for her many years of service.
