Iconic Maine lighthouse to be closed all summer due to storm damage
SAINT GEORGE, Maine (WMTW) - The iconic Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde will not open to the public this season. The Marshall Point Lighthouse & Museum announced this week that, due to damage to the walkway caused by the back-to-back storms in January, they cannot safely open. That closure includes the walkway and lighthouse tower.

The next public supper will be May 1. The menu will consist of broccoli cheese soup, biscuits, salad, cornbread chili casserole and applesauce custard pie. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Additional meals may be purchased for take-out at the same cost when reserved. For more information or to make a reservation, call 882-8230.

Hope and Warren garages two of 10 Maine businesses receiving federal solar grants
HOPE — Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree said April 23 that 10 Maine businesses in electoral District 1 are receiving $657,000 in renewable energy grants, courtesy of the federal Inflation Reduction Act. Among them, Hatchet Mountain Garage in Hope will receive $21,080 to install solar panels, and Copeland’s Garage, Inc., in Warren, will receive $70,000 for a similar project.
