Drew Elliott broke the Chapman High School record for 1600M
There were many firsts and lasts at the Abilene High School Invitational track meet Friday as winners were crowned, records were broken and the Abilene seniors participated in their final home meet. Chapman’s Drew Elliott, shown here running the 800M with Abilene’s Oscar Espinoza and Weston Rock, broke the Chapman High School record for 1600M at 4:27.32. The previous mark of 4:27.90 was held by Todd Frieze in 1991. Chapman senior Haley Litzinger broke the Chapman school record in long jump with a winning jump of 18-03.75.
