Lei ceremony honors fallen heroes in heartfelt tribute

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Irreverent Warriors Hawaii supported the North Shore Chamber of Commerce and Wahiawa Lion’s Club in a Lei Ceremony to honor those who had given the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

The event featured a guest speaker who shared poignant words to commemorate the occasion, followed by invocations from various community groups.

Shortly after the remarks and prayers, the Lei Ceremony took place.

Several local organizations, high schools, and volunteer groups attended and provided assistance for the event.

Its purpose was to honor and memorialize those listed on the War Memorial, as well as other local heroes who had made the ultimate sacrifice in service.

Lei were laid for each service member inscribed on the War Memorial, along with any local service member community members wished to honor for their ultimate sacrifice.
