FIRST ALERT: Strong Storms Expected Tonight with Flooding Concerns
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - The first week of May continues to bring more rain across the area. Flooding concerns are on the rise as some areas have seen over 3 inches of rainfall already this month. Yesterday flooding was reported in Mannington after 1.71 inches of rain fell in the afternoon. With more rain on the way tonight and the potential for strong to severe storms, a First Alert Weather Event has been declared with major flooding concerns across the area. We expect to see the line of storms cross overnight, with the timing looking to be anytime after midnight to about 5/6 am. Rain totals are trending in the direction of about an inch around the area just for this system tonight. More rain chances will be on the way later in the week and flooding chances will remain until at least Thursday. Michael Moranelli has the details in your First Alert Forecast.
