WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — The Big 12 hasn’t been kind to Baylor baseball lately with Baylor suffering its eight-straight loss in conference play after a 10-6 loss completed the TCU sweep on Sunday.

A disastrous first inning doomed the Bears from the start. Mason Green struck out the leadoff batter but proceeded to allow three-straight two-run home runs to TCU to give the Horned Frogs a six-run lead in the top of the first.

The Bears tried to play catchup, with Enzo Apodaca blasting his sixth home run of the season in the fifth inning.

Baylor cut the TCU lead to three in the seventh inning but the Horned Frogs held off the charge by adding two more runs in the ninth to seal the deal.

“Our kids are trying hard, they’re working hard,” Baylor head baseball coach Mitch Thompson said. “We’ve just got to play a tick better here and there and we’ve got to go win games. That’s that at the end of the day.”

Baylor plays host to Tarleton next in the last midweek contest of the season on Tuesday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m.
