FOX 44 — The Bears’ run in the NCAA Tournament got cut short on both the men’s and women’s side with each team falling in the opening round.

The Men’s team continued battling the elements with San Diego fending off Baylor’s charge to send the Bears back to Waco with a 4-1 loss in the opening round.

The Bears battled in doubles despite rain delaying play at 10:42 a.m.

The Torero’s took the doubles point and followed it up by jumping out to an early lead in singles play. However, Baylor fought back and eventually took three matches into a third and decisive set but were unable to complete the comeback.

On the Women’s side, Baylor also dropped the doubles point but came out of the gates hot in singles play. The Bears took four of six of the first sets before ultimately falling in a narrow contest, 4-3 to LSU.
