WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — A career-high four hits for Cole Posey and a double short of the first Baylor cycle in 20 years helped the Bears to a 5-3 midweek win over UT Arlington on Tuesday.

The Bears jumped out to an early lead with Daniel Altman and Hunter Teplanszky each adding RBI-singles in the bottom of the first to put Baylor up 2-0.

Jordan Matheson got the start on the mound and didn’t allow a hit through three innings despite two walks and three hit-by-pitches. Tanner Duke came on in relief and 2.2 innings allowing only one run earned him his first career win.

Posey had a chance to complete the cycle but fell short with a single and an error in the seventh.

The Bears look to keep the momentum going this weekend against rival TCU with the series beginning on Friday, May 3rd at 6:30 p.m.
