After two public workshops and the City Council's three rounds of voting earlier this month, Waste Management and the city appeared to have worked out an agreement for universal, mandatory pick-up once a week.But that agreement, which had been scheduled for a council vote on March 22, was tabled unexpectedly until April 12 at the request of Councilman Ed Dodd.

Agricultural land prices soar as hedge funds compete with farmers and island buyers
During the pandemic real estate boom, big sales on the beachside got most of the limelight, but the party was going on out west, too, where agricultural land values soared. More than 18,000 acres of field, forest, marsh and grove land changed hands in the past two years –an aggregate area more than twice the size of the City of Vero Beach – according to county property records.
