DCYF discloses near death of teen
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) disclosed the near death of a 16-year-old on Monday. Damaris Teixeira, a spokesperson for the department, said the incident occurred on April 27, adding that the Office of the Child Advocate was notified of the case.
Southern New England's first 'King Tide' of 2024 will happen this week
The first King Tide of 2024 will impact Southern New England on Monday and Tuesday night. Water levels in and around our coastal communities will be about a foot higher than an average high tide. Due to the high water levels, many of our tidal gauges are expected to reach Action or Minor Flood Stage during Tuesday evening's high tide (~8PM), according to the National Weather Service office in Boston.
