Overnight rain slightly cools Wednesday high temps, but much warmer weekend in store
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - A cold front crossing over us late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning provides some overnight rain showers and slightly cooler Wednesday high temperatures (low to mid-60s lowlands, mid to upper 50s mountains). Clouds won’t linger too long past the rain, so expect sunshine by Wednesday afternoon. We remain dry with a mix of clouds and sun for Thursday and Friday, with temperatures a bit warmer on Thursday and even more so on Friday. A large low-pressure system developing in the central US will dominate our weather next, with its warm front lifting through our area Friday night/Saturday morning, causing light rain. Once the warm front is to our north, we’ll be in the low’s warm sector, bringing our temperatures even higher as the weekend progresses (likely low 80s in the lowlands by Sunday and Monday). The cold frontal passage with that low is still uncertain in its timing and its strength, but currently looks like it’ll cross over us Tuesday, bringing rain showers and the chance of storms, as well as a mild temperature drop.
