FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A dog is dead after a house fire in Visalia Wednesday night, according to the Visalia Fire Department

Fire crews say they responded to a house fire around 7:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Whitendale Avenue.

When crews arrived, officials say the severity of the fire led to a second alarm, deploying all Visalia Fire Department fire units to the scene.

Investigators say two animals were pulled from the home and one dog did not survive.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
